As always it was bone freezing cold outside on Hoth. He knew the hangar was not much warmer but somehow it stilt felt that way to Wedge. He had left his tauntaun with one of the techs and was heading towards his quarters when he heard Wes’ voice, “Think fast Wedge.”
Wedge turned around just in time get a ball of snow in his face. As he wiped the snow of his face, he heard the other rogues laughing and yelling. And probably putting down bets, he thought.
But instead of just picking up some snow and throwing it at Janson, he would probably be able to evade it anyway, Wedge turned around and headed for the door to his quarters. To get there he had to pass behind some boxes that had been unloaded in the middle of the hangar and as he passed behind them and were hidden from his pilots view for a second he bent down to pick up some snow.
When he emerged on the other side of the boxes he looked back at the pilots, Wes had his back to him, and yelled, “Hey Janson,” Wedge threw his snow at Wes just as the other pilot turned around. “Think fast.” Wedge said with a grin as the ball of snow his Wes square in the face.
None of the pilots could keep them self from laughing. Even Wes had to smile at his commander as he bent down to pick up a new ball of snow. “You know, commander, I would be very careful who I aim at.” Wes said with a grin of his own. Then he threw his ball at Wedge. Wedge ducked, grinning back at Wes but from behind him came the splash of the ball hitting someone and a sound of surprise from the man that had been hit. He had been walking by behind Wedge. As the pilots noticed him they suddenly stopped laughing and instead looked like they were starting to look for cover from the explosion that were bound to come. Also Wedge’s smile faded as he turned around and found general Rieekan.
